At least twelve civilians were killed, and several others were wounded in violence that took place in the South Omo Zone of the Southern Nations and Nationalities Peoples Region on Monday, December 4, 2017, as reported by The Reporter.
According to the report, members of the Bodi Ethnic group allegedly started a revenge attack on random vehicles and people in the area for the Bodi Ethnic member who was killed in a car accident earlier in the day. The majority of the victims were truck drivers of construction companies. Police have made 11 arrests so far, and members of the national army are deployed in the area.
