Four construction workers were killed and three others were injured in Gumi Eldalo woreda of Guji Zone on November 1, 2020, as reported by Addis Standard. According to the Administrator of the Zone, the Oromo Liberation Army (OLA) launched grenades at the civilians who were working on the construction of a bridge connecting Guji and Borena.
A resident who spoke with Addis Standard stated that this incident is part of the ongoing clashes between the OLA and the regional government in the zone. The resident expressed frustration with both parties, as they continuously shift blame for the killing of innocent civilians, stating that they are “gambling with the lives of innocent people.”
