Over 11 Millions are in Need of Aid in Amhara Region

The regional government of Amhara has stated that 11.6 million people in the Amhara region require assistance, as reported by Addis Standard. The ongoing war, which has spread to the northern and eastern areas of the region, has had a devastating impact on the region’s economy and has resulted in the displacement of thousands of people.

According to the report, the region is currently hosting approximately 270,000 displaced individuals who have fled from Wag Hemra, Alamata, and Korem. Additionally, there are individuals seeking refuge in the region due to violence occurring in various parts of the country.
