Over the past decades, deadly ethnic conflicts appeared to have increased in Ethiopia. Loss of lives, displacements and destruction of livelihood have been causing unimaginable pain and suffering to communities especially in Somali, Oromia, Benishangul and Southern Nations and Nationalities Peoples Regional States.
In November 2020, Tigray People Liberation Front, (TPLF) engaged the Federal Government in a devastating war resulting in huge loss of civilian lives, gender based violence and infrastructural damage in Afar, Amhara and Tigray Regional States.
Government authorities, media, and human right institutions have reported on the atrocities in their respective platforms. Ethiopia Watch has put together the reports in one place to help us fully grasp the scale of the situation.
