Ten people killed and about 90 injured in a Hawassa conflict.

Ethnic clashes that engulfed Hawassa in the recent past claimed 10 lives, as reported by The Reporter, citing the Sidama zone administration. Nine people sustained severe injuries, and 80 suffered minor ones. The conflict also uprooted 3,500 people and caused property damages.

According to the head of the Zonal Administration, 226 suspected perpetrators have been detained, and he vowed to hold all individuals involved in the conflict accountable.

The report highlighted that Hawassa, together with Wolaita Sodo and Wolkite, are among the SNNPR towns that have witnessed violence in the past couple of weeks. The prime minister called for the resignation of the zonal and woreda administrations after the conflict.
