Somali and Afar Clashes

The Ogaden National Liberation Front alleges that around 700 ethnic Somalis have gone missing following a recent conflict between Somali and Afar communities, as reported by Addis Maleda. A member of the party informed Addis Maleda that no investigation has been conducted regarding these killings. However, they believe that up to 700 civilians may have been killed in the conflict by Afar militias.

On the other hand, the chairman of the Afar People’s Democratic Party refutes these allegations and denies any involvement. Instead, he stated that the Somali region often attempts to take over Afar lands, attacking Afar people.
