Gumuz Liberation Front and Oromo Liberation Army (OLA) Conduct Ethnic-Based Attacks in Benishangul Gumuz, Kamashi Zone, as Reported by Addis Maleda. Residents are Fleeing kebeles due to fear for their lives.
A large number of residents in Wurinka kebele, Jingafo woreda, have abandoned their village, fearing the presence of armed groups in the area. Addis Maleda received accounts from the displaced individuals, who revealed that they fled their homes to avoid a fate similar to those killed by gunmen whose bodies were found in the woods last August.
The report confirms that the woreda administrator acknowledges the ethnic-based attacks. However, he expressed his inability to provide adequate protection for the residents. Despite persistent pleas to regional authorities, the woreda administrator received no response.
